Senior Legal Counsel - Insurance

This fast growing regulatory body in Hong Kong is hiring a senior legal counsel to join its team.  Reporting to the General Counsel, this key role will:

• Advise on legislation and compliance requirements relating to life insurance products 
• Advise on insurance transactions and requisite authorisations for Hong Kong based insurers
• Provide legal support on innovation in insurance (for eg, AI, insurtech and regulations)
• Work closely with other departments to ensure regulatory compliance and advise on operational matters
• Advise on internal policies and procedures

To qualify:

• 10+ PQE with a regulatory body, leading law firm or insurance company or financial services sector
• Excellent knowledge of insurance and financial services laws and regulations
• Experience of life insurance/reinsurance regulatory requirements and corporate structures and insurtech exposure is highly advantageous
• Excellent team player with commercial and practical mindset and stakeholder management skills required
• Fluency in both English and Cantonese is necessary
