About the job AWS Platform Lead
We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Lead to lead the end-to-end onboarding of new AWS accounts and workloads into our AWS Landing Zone environment, built with AWS Control Tower and aligned with CIS and AWS Foundational Security Best Practices.
As a AWS Platform Lead, you will act as the primary liaison between application teams, cloud engineering, and security teams ensuring each new AWS account is provisioned, configured, and handed over to operations with compliance, security, and governance fully in place.

Onboarding Process Management
- Own and manage the AWS account onboarding process from request intake to production readiness.
- Work closely with application and business teams to understand requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with Cloud Engineering, Security, Networking, and DevOps teams for necessary configurations.
Account Provisioning & Configuration
- Oversee AWS account creation via Control Tower Account Factory.
- Ensure baseline controls (GuardDuty, Security Hub, IAM Identity Center, CloudTrail, etc.) are enforced as part of Infrastructure as Code.
- Confirm network connectivity (VPC, Transit Gateway, etc.) and restrictions are correctly applied.
Compliance & Security Assurance
- Validate that CIS and AWS Foundational Security Best Practices are met before handover.
- Facilitate reviews with Security Engineers for compliance posture and remediation.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for onboarding-related queries.
- Provide onboarding status updates to stakeholders and management.
- Maintain onboarding documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base for self-service guidance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency gains in onboarding workflows.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed automation pipelines for account setup.
Qualities We Value
- 5+ years in enterprise scale IT operations, cloud service delivery, or project management (AWS experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, IAM, networking, and core security services.
- Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and security best practices.
- Proven ability to manage structured workflows and process documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Technical exposure in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation); CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI); Security & compliance (IAM, Security Hub, AWS Config).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other relevant AWS certifications are a plus.
