Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Support)
Location: Offshore (UAE)

Salary & Benefits:

Working Hours:

  • Offshore: 06:30 – 18:30 (1-hour break)

  • Leave cycle: 150/30

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating equipment

  • Experience in refinery or petrochemical industries

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience in replacement of main bearings, connecting rod bearings, cylinder valves, piston rings, rider rings, piston rods, lube oil pumps, and other mechanical components

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

  • Perform corrective maintenance for compressor malfunctions

  • Conduct shaft alignments, lubrication, sealing, and inspection of reciprocating gas compressor components

  • Prepare tools, materials, and spare parts as per maintenance schedules

  • Maintain accurate commissioning reports, maintenance records, and documentation of all activities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to compressor package performance, efficiency, and reliability

  • Participate in major overhauls, preventive maintenance, and repair tasks of reciprocating gas compressors

  • Use diagnostic tools and instruments such as vibration analyzers and pressure gauges

  • Follow safety protocols, hazard analysis techniques, and ensure a safe working environment

  • Perform maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards (API, ASME, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in overhauling, repairing, and troubleshooting reciprocating compressors and auxiliaries

  • Capable of performing breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks

  • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and lift tools and parts

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments

  • Proficiency in PC tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)

  • Strong hands-on experience with reciprocating gas compressors and their maintenance procedures
