This includes preparing cost estimates, conducting cost analysis, and monitoring project budgets to ensure they are completed within the allocated budget. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects - Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for cost savings - Monitor project budgets and provide regular reports on cost performance - Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to obtain the best prices for materials and services - Review and approve project invoices and ensure they align with the budget - Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure cost control measures are implemented - Prepare and maintain project cash flow projections - Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential financial risks - Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other team members - Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in construction costs - Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards - Maintain accurate and organized project documentation. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry - Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficient in using cost estimation and project management software - Strong communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills - Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards - Professional certifications such as RICS or CIOB are preferred.
