The Language Specialist is responsible for ensuring accuracy, clarity, cultural appropriateness, and consistency of written and spoken content across assigned languages. This role supports translation, localization, editing, terminology management, and language quality assurance initiatives. The Language Specialist collaborates with content creators, product teams, and stakeholders to maintain high linguistic standards in a fully remote environment.

This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will be rejected.

Key Responsibilities

Translate, edit, and proofread content to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency

Review localized materials for cultural relevance and tone alignment

Maintain terminology databases and language style guides

Support multilingual content development for digital and print materials

Conduct language quality assurance reviews

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure message clarity

Provide linguistic consultation on branding and communication strategies

Identify errors, inconsistencies, or ambiguity in source materials

Ensure adherence to localization best practices and standards

Support language-related projects and workflow improvements

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Communications, Modern Languages, or related field

Fluency in English and at least one additional language (native or near-native proficiency preferred)

2–5 years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or language services

Strong written communication and grammar skills

Experience using translation tools or localization platforms

High attention to detail and cultural sensitivity

Ability to manage multiple projects in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

Professional translation certification (e.g., ATA certification or equivalent)

Experience with localization management systems (LMS)

Background in technical, legal, medical, or marketing translation

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)

Experience working with global or cross-cultural teams
