STELO is looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Trades Trainer to coordinate the training activities of one of the most ambitious programmes in Africa's mining industry today.
This training programme will be in Madagascar.
Job Purpose:
To plan, deliver, and assess high-quality training programmes for electrical and Instrumentation trade apprentices and workers, ensuring they acquire the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to perform safely and competently in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Delivery:
- Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions in electrical and instrumentation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety.
- Deliver competency-based training
- Demonstrate the correct use of tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Curriculum Development:
- Design, review, and update training materials and lesson plans.
- Customize training content based on industry-specific needs (e.g., mining, construction, industrial automation).
- Assessment & Evaluation:
- Evaluate trainee performance through practical assessments, written tests, and on-the-job observation.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and assessment results.
- Conduct VOC of certified workers.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Promote and enforce adherence to electrical safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and PPE usage.
- Ensure training practices align with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Mentorship & Support:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to trainees.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide additional support or coaching.
Reporting and Coordination:
- Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and planners to schedule relevant training.
- Report trainee progress and training gaps to the Technical Training Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Certified Electrical and Instrumentation trades person
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in electrical and instrumentation work (industrial, commercial, or residential).
- Recognized teaching/training certification
- Accredited in Electrical Safety NFC 18 510
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety practices and tools.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Strong organizational and planning ability.
- Practical problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to use training aids, simulators, and modern instructional technologies.
Languages : Professional English and French, Malagasy is an advantage.
