Mechanical Fitter Iron Ore Concentrator (Liberia)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our operations and maintenance team at an iron ore concentrator plant in Liberia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving fixed plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous production.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs on fixed plant equipment including:

• Crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps

• Ball mills / SAG mills

• Thickeners and filtration systems

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance in line with maintenance plans.

Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform root-cause analysis.

Ensure proper alignment, installation, and commissioning of mechanical components.

Complete job cards, checklists, and maintenance reports accurately.

Work in accordance with safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and company policies.

Support continuous improvement and reliability-focused maintenance activities.

Collaborate with planners, supervisors, and other trades to meet production and maintenance targets.

Requirements

Certificate or diploma in Mechanical Fitting or related trade qualification.

Minimum 5-10 years experience in mining or heavy industrial fixed plant maintenance.

Strong knowledge of crushers, conveyors, pumps, rotating equipment, and mill maintenance.

Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

Experience working in remote mining environments is an advantage.

Demonstrated commitment to safety and teamwork.

Physical fitness and ability to work in hot, humid, and demanding conditions.
