One of our clients is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support the development and operation of a mining project in Angola. The successful candidate will oversee all HR services during both the project implementation and operational phases.
We are looking for a responsible, experienced, and team-oriented professional capable of driving strategic and operational HR initiatives in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire HR function for both the development and operational stages of the project.
- Define and implement HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Establish HR policies, procedures, and systems to support a scalable organization.
- Develop and manage reward and remuneration frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and employment standards.
- Oversee talent acquisition and retention across all project phases.
- Support organizational development, transformation, and change initiatives.
- Manage the HR budget and ensure cost-effective HR delivery.
- Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documentation.
- Coordinate induction programs, employee medicals, and exit processes.
- Provide day-to-day coaching to managers on HR practices and employee relations.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies.
- Support payroll-related queries and maintain employee records.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HR metrics and data.
Candidate Profile
- Postgraduate degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, including 10 years in a management role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining sector is essential.
- Deep knowledge of Angolan labor law, employment conditions, and HR compliance.
- Proven ability to work with unions, community stakeholders, and government institutions.
- Strong HR network within the mining industry and government ministries.
- Familiarity with community engagement protocols in Angola.
- Competency in budget preparation and HR cost control.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Valid drivers license.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is highly advantageous.
