Reports to: Project Execution Manager (Head Office)
Location: Liberia Site Based (Expatriate Assignment, 7/3 rotation)

Role Purpose
The Site Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and management of operations, maintenance, and commissioning resources deployed on the project in Liberia. This includes ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable execution of all site-based activities, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering contractual obligations to the highest technical and safety standards. The Site Manager will act as the primary point of contact between the client and the company, ensuring alignment of objectives, compliance with local requirements, and optimal utilisation of resources across all workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to all site-based personnel, including Operations, Maintenance, and E&I Commissioning teams.
  • Ensure effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of daily, weekly, and long-term activities.
  • Lead toolbox talks, performance reviews, and team development initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across all site activities.

Operations & Maintenance Oversight

  • Oversee delivery of Operations support resources, ensuring plant throughput and performance targets are achieved.
  • Ensure Maintenance teams execute preventive, predictive, and corrective work in line with project requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs for availability, reliability, and equipment performance, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Support operational readiness and long-term sustainability goals of the project.

Commissioning & Technical Support

  • Supervise E&I Commissioning teams to ensure safe energisation, testing, loop checks, and handover of systems.
  • Manage interfaces between commissioning, operations, and maintenance workstreams to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Guarantee compliance with project commissioning standards and procedures.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between site/project leadership and the company.
  • Provide clear, structured reporting on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships based on trust, transparency, and delivery.
  • Support the projects goal of developing national workforce capability through mentoring and knowledge transfer initiatives.

Compliance & Administration

  • Oversee mobilisation, onboarding, and welfare of expatriate and national employees.
  • Manage site budgets, cost control, timesheets, and invoicing processes in line with contract terms.
  • Prepare and submit monthly certificates, progress reports, and supporting documentation for billing and client approvals.
  • Maintain accurate site records, personnel rosters, and compliance registers.
  • Ensure adherence to roster arrangements and manage accrued leave processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation) or equivalent trade/technical background.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mining, process plant, or heavy industrial environments, including:
    • Operations & Maintenance leadership roles.
    • Commissioning management.
    • EPCM Background advantages.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multicultural teams in expatriate settings.
  • Strong track record of safety leadership, client interface, and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of asset management systems, maintenance planning, and operational readiness.
  • Prior experience working in West Africa or similar remote environments (advantageous).
