STELO is looking for an experienced and motivated Training Programme Planner & Controller to plan schedule and control one of the most ambitious programmes in Africa's mining industry today.
This training programme will be in Madagascar.
Job Purpose:
To develop, monitor, and control project schedules and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within cost. The role provides critical support in planning, tracking, forecasting, and reporting project performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as MS Project.
- Define activity sequences, durations, and dependencies.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedules and identify variances.
- Prepare lookahead schedules and critical path analysis for stakeholder reviews.
Cost Control:
- Monitor project expenditures and resource usage.
- Track actual costs vs. budget and update cost forecasts.
- Prepare cost control reports including earned value analysis (EVA), cost-to-complete, and variance analysis.
- Assist in validating contractor invoices and change order requests.
Planning & Reporting:
- Support project planning from initiation through closure (WBS, CBS, resource plans).
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders (weekly/monthly dashboards, KPIs).
- Develop S-curves, histograms, and cash flow projections.
Change Management:
- Track and evaluate schedule and cost impacts of project changes.
- Update baseline schedules and budgets upon approval of changes.
Systems & Tools:
- Maintain project data in planning and cost control systems.
- Interface with Learning Management Systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project planning and cost control.
- Proficiency in MS Project, and Excel (advanced).
- Familiarity with cost control
- Knowledge of project management standards (PMBOK, PRINCE2) is a plus.

Languages : Professional English and French, Malagasy is an advantage.
