About the Role
We are seeking a Director, Security Architecture & Advisory to lead the strategic design and evolution of our enterprise security architecture. In this senior leadership role, you will define the vision for secure technology design and ensure that security is embedded across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
As a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders, you will shape the organizations approach to cybersecurity architecture, guide key technology decisions, and drive alignment between business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. You will also lead and develop a team of skilled security architects and advisors, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and security-by-design.
Key Responsibilities
Security Architecture Leadership

Define and maintain the enterprise security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and IT roadmaps.

Oversee the design, implementation, and governance of secure solutions across infrastructure, application, and cloud environments.

Establish and enforce security architecture standards, patterns, and principles to guide technology development and reduce risk.
Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

Provide expert security guidance and consultation to business and technology teams during solution design, procurement, and implementation.

Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on emerging threats, architectural risks, and risk-mitigation strategies.

Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to promote a security-by-design mindset throughout the organization.
Governance & Risk Management

Ensure all architectural decisions align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk frameworks.

Participate in architecture review boards and governance committees to evaluate and approve major technology initiatives.

Lead security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis for critical projects and platforms.
Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of security architects and advisors.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on continuous learning and improvement.

Define team objectives, KPIs, and professional development plans aligned with organizational goals.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies

Stay current with emerging security technologies, frameworks, and threat trends.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, cloud solutions, and architectures that strengthen the enterprise security posture.
Stakeholder Communication

Enhance risk transparency by communicating effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.

Serve as a bridge between IT risk, architecture, and business units, ensuring clear communication of risks, controls, and emerging threats.
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least 5 years in leadership roles focused on security architecture or advisory.

Proven expertise in enterprise, cloud, and application security, and secure development practices.

Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, TOGAF, and SABSA.

Demonstrated experience influencing executive-level technology decisions and guiding enterprise initiatives.

Professional certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CISM, or cloud security certifications (AWS, Azure) are highly desirable.
