Human Resources Manager (Part-time)
Join a mission-driven organization as HR Manager, where you'll lead and shape human resources across a dynamic and multifaceted structure comprising four affiliated nonprofits. Reporting to the COO, you'll oversee daily HR operations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and contribute to the development and execution of the organization's HR strategy. This is a key, hands-on role focused on cultivating a positive, people-centered, and legally compliant workplace. This is a part-time, on-site position requiring approximately 25 hours per week with our client, a faith-based nonprofit located in Holyoke, MA. This is a direct hire opportunity, and occasional additional hours may be required based on organizational needs.
Your Role in Our Mission
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes
- Serve as point person for employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Massachusetts employment law
- Manage benefits programs, leave requests, short-term disability, and workers' comp claims
- Coordinate training programs on safety, compliance, and professional development
- Promote employee engagement, retention initiatives, and feedback mechanisms
- Lead employee satisfaction surveys and deliver actionable insights to strengthen workplace environment and retention
- Oversee offboarding and ensure smooth transitions
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of HR leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit or a faith-based setting
- Deep knowledge of Massachusetts employment law and HR compliance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience managing sensitive and confidential matters and fostering collaboration across all levels
- Skilled in HRIS platforms, payroll operations, and benefits administration
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field (Master's preferred)
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus
