The opportunity

The internship will be conducted in Stout London St. James's office for a  period of 3 to 6 months commencing between October and November 2026. The position is full-time and paid pro rata £36,000 gross pa.

Interns at Stout UK work directly with analysts, associates, and senior Stout directors on a daily basis assisting with engagements involving middle-market mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and special situations. Stouts broad coverage will allow exposure to a variety of industries. Stout UK & Nordics has particularly strong experience in advising companies in the business services, maritime, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

At Stout, you are engaged in real work right away. A typical day might include supporting the team with the following:

  • Perform industry and company research
  • Analyse financial statements and build financial models
  • Perform valuation analyses
  • Prepare marketing materials, including pitch books, teasers, confidential information memorandums, management presentations, etc.
  • Attend meetings and / or calls with clients
  • Drive the transaction process in conjunction with senior bankers

Requirements

An Intern candidate must be:

  • currently studying a Masters, preferably, but not limited to, a related discipline to finance, economics or STEM subject;
  • currently completing an industrial year placement as an Undergraduate year 3
  • fluent in English;
  • strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
  • eligible to work in the UK, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire or hold a valid Student or Graduate visa.

Students must be currently completing their industrial year of study or later to apply. Do not apply if you are currently a first or second year undergraduate as you are not eligible.

We are looking for candidate with the following skills:

  • strong analytical, problem solving and research skills;
  • excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail;
  • inter-personal skills - a team player with high performance ethos, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence;
  • technical understanding of accounting, corporate finance and/or valuation principles needed;
  • prior relatable working experience, ideally within financial services;
