Staff/Principal Software Engineer

About the Role Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed startup (recently closed a $10M+ Series A) building the industry-leading agentic AI platform for real estate operations. Their technology autonomously handles over 75% of client support interactions across email, SMS, WhatsApp, and voice.

We are seeking a heavy-hitting Senior to Principal level Software Engineer (7–12 years of experience) to join a lean "rockstar" engineering team. You will help scale the engineering organization from 6 to 12+ members while maintaining a rapid shipping velocity. This is a backend-leaning, full-stack role for an elite Individual Contributor who wants to build at the frontier of AI.

What You’ll Do

• Architect & Ship: Lead the development of major features for omnichannel AI agents, making critical decisions on infrastructure and system design.

• Build with AI: Integrate AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) into your daily workflow to accelerate development.

• Collaborate: Work directly with the CTO and founders to shape technical strategy and product direction in fast-paced weekly cycles.

• Scale Systems: Design and deploy scalable, high-impact systems on AWS that support 6–7x year-over-year revenue growth.

• Operate Full-Stack: Move fluidly across the stack as needed—shifting priorities weekly based on business impact rather than staying in a technical silo.

Who You Are

• The Veteran IC: 7–12 years of production experience at top-tier Big Tech firms or recognizable high-growth startups. You are a builder, not a manager.

• Python Expert: Deep production experience with Python as a primary backend language. Familiarity with TypeScript and React is a strong plus.

• AI-Native Developer: You are highly proficient with modern AI coding tools and believe in the "10x engineer" potential of agentic workflows.

• Product-Minded: You understand the business context of your code and care about the "why" behind the product.

• Education & Background: Strong academic background (Top CS programs) or previous experience as a founder/CTO is highly preferred.
