Fruit Accountant

Suiderland Plase is an internationally recognised grower, packer and exporter of citrus fruit and table grapes. Our farms and pack houses are situated across the Western Cape, with our head office in Bellville.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who thrives under pressure, can meet tight deadlines, and is confident working with Excel and accounting systems. A vacancy currently exists for a Fruit Accountant at our head office in Bellville. This office-based role forms part of the fruit accounting team and reports directly to the Senior Fruit Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and managing consignment accounts for Suiderland Plases international operations.
• Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Collecting and analyzing relevant consignment sales and cost data
• Calculating final consignment results and processing payments to produce suppliers
• Recording consignment transactions in the financial records
• Reconciling financial performance metrics

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification

• A minimum of 5 years experience in fruit accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with large datasets
• Experience with accounting and export systems, with Paltrack experience being highly advantageous
• Strong administrative abilities with sound decision-making and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in consignment accounting
• Knowledge of cost chain analysis
• Understanding of Incoterms and international trade principles
