Fruit Accountant Assistant

Suiderland Plase is a grower, packer, and exporter of premium citrus and table grapes. With farming and packing operations spread across the Western Cape, our head office is based in Bellville.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our fruit accounting department.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of various producer report
• Reconcile and maintain cost invoices to be deducted from producer payments.
• Review accuracy of various financial sources used in liquidations.
• Maintain grower reconciliation and interest calculation files.
• Communication with producers and pack houses
• Update Packhouse charges schedule & reconcile with producer packout reports, BC and shipments view (on variety level)
• Review & approval of packhouse invoices
• Create and update Grower Interest Schedules (advances, loans, packhouse charges)
• Prepare, file and email producer season reports
• Manage/assist with the annual audit (compiling information for auditors)
• Capturing of SLP intercompany recovery invoices on Trust BC
• Sundry duties as may be required from time to time.

Job requirements and details

• Tertiary qualification with 2-3 years' bookkeeping experience
• Strong Excel skills and computer literacy
• Familiarity with accounting/export systems
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Advantageous: knowledge of consignment accounting, cost chains, and Incoterms
