Job Title: Librarian
Reports to: Academic Excellence Department
Job Purpose
Manage and deliver library services to support students, faculty, and staff by providing access to academic resources, ensuring effective use of library systems, and contributing to teaching, learning, and research activities in alignment with university policies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive library services and professional support to students, faculty, and staff.
Manage the operations, including lending, returns, renewals, and reservations of library materials.
Assist users in effectively locating, accessing, and utilizing information resources, databases, and library systems.
Organize, catalog, classify, and maintain library collections in accordance with recognized standards.
Support information literacy programs and deliver library orientation and training sessions.
Collaborate with academic departments to support teaching, learning, and research requirements.
Maintain accurate library records, statistics, and usage reports.
Ensure proper handling, preservation, and confidentiality of library resources and user information.
Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of library services, policies, and procedures.
Support academic excellence initiatives related to learning resources, research support, and knowledge management.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in library services (preferably in academic institutions).
Knowledge of library management systems, databases, and cataloging standards.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
