The Professional Development Specialist will play a key role in identifying, designing, and implementing training programs and workshops aimed at enhancing the professional skills of faculty members. The successful candidate will work closely with academic leadership and the Human Capital Department to ensure that professional development initiatives support institutional goals, improve teaching effectiveness, and meet evolving industry needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordination and Analysis of Professional Development Plans:

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Human Capital Department to align performance evaluation outcomes with professional development requirements.
  • Develop customized professional development plans for faculty based on identified needs.
  • Organize meetings throughout the year to address urgent training requirements.

2. Organization and Implementation of Training Programs:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise internal and external training sessions, workshops, and conferences.
  • Deliver or facilitate recurring professional development programs.
  • Identify and engage qualified trainers and experts from within and outside the university.
  • Coordinate the participation of faculty in certified training programs hosted by external institutions.

3. Enhancing Professional Partnerships:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local and international training providers, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
  • Develop collaborative initiatives that offer valuable professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of external training programs on faculty performance.

4. Monitoring Performance and Evaluating Programs:

  • Collect and analyze feedback and performance data to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to senior academic leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement of training strategies based on data-driven insights.

5. Staying Current in the Field of Professional Development:

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in professional development and adult learning.
  • Recommend innovative approaches and technologies to enhance training delivery and engagement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Education & Training, Professional Development , or a related field.
  • A Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPD, CPTD, SHRM, or equivalent) in training and development are preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional development, training, or human resources.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs in higher education institutions is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with academic performance evaluations and career development frameworks is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of modern training methodologies and adult learning principles .
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess training needs and measure program effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations, facilitate workshops , and create engaging learning experiences.
  • Proficiency in using modern training tools, e-learning platforms , and presentation software.
  • Outstanding communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills .
  • Ability to build and manage professional networks and partnerships .
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English , both spoken and written.
