About the job Associate Director, Global Upstream Marketing
A global medical device company headquartered just outside of New York City is seeking an Associate Director, Global Marketing to lead portfolio strategy and commercial execution for an established product franchise within one of its core business units. Reporting into the Global Marketing team, this leader will drive strategic direction, financial performance, and cross-functional alignment across a matrixed, international organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Portfolio Management
- Define and execute product strategy and multi-generational roadmaps, including development priorities and release planning.
- Analyze market trends and customer insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize the portfolio, and inform pricing strategy.
- Develop competitive strategies through ongoing market analysis and intelligence gathering.
- Support new product development as the core marketing team member, owning all marketing deliverables through the development lifecycle.
Go-to-Market and Commercial Execution
- Build and implement worldwide marketing plans encompassing clinical programs, advertising, promotions, sales tools, public relations, and educational seminars.
- Develop a global sales and marketing plan defining market development activities, promotional strategy, and associated commercial objectives.
- Drive product launch execution and ongoing lifecycle management across global markets.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with regional marketing, sales, R&D, Clinical Scientific Affairs, and Business Development to ensure coordinated strategy execution.
- Serve as a central subject matter resource to regional commercial teams worldwide.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, compliance standards, and ethics codes across team activities.
- Support additional marketing initiatives as assigned by platform leadership.
- Travel required (approximately 25%).
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; concentration in business, science, marketing, or healthcare preferred.
- MBA with focus in marketing, strategy, or finance strongly preferred.
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of product marketing or upstream marketing experience required.
- New product development and product launch experience strongly preferred.
- Healthcare industry background (medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences) highly preferred.

- Resourceful problem solver who builds logical, data-informed recommendations and translates insights into action.

Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $160,000 to $200,000
