Role

A global biopharmaceutical company with a high-impact Medical Affairs function is seeking a Field-Based Value & Outcomes Liaison to serve as its field-based health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) expert. This individual will work at the intersection of Medical Affairs and Market Access, engaging payers, population health decision-makers, and healthcare providers with compelling, evidence-based clinical and economic value messaging in support of the company's oncology portfolio.

This role will initially focus on a late-stage hematologic oncology asset, with opportunity to expand across the broader pipeline as the organization grows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain deep scientific knowledge of assigned products and pipeline, target disease areas, and the competitive landscape, including payer policies and access pathways in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • In close collaboration with the Market Access team, execute field engagement strategies for key HEOR customers — including compliant delivery of pre-approval information exchange (PIE) and health care economic information (HCEI) materials.
  • Engage population health decision-makers at local and regional payers, GPOs, pathway organizations, and IDNs — delivering accurate, balanced clinical and economic information including economic models and value communication tools.
  • Provide medical and scientific education to payers and population health decision-makers relative to target disease states and company clinical trials.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for economic and clinical information from healthcare providers in a fair and balanced manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key access decision-makers and identify appropriate collaboration opportunities.
  • Provide insights and feedback to internal outcomes research and evidence generation teams on emerging economic, clinical, and real-world data.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including Medical Affairs, Field Medical, and Market Access teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, treatment trends, clinical trials, and the scientific landscape.
  • Represent the company at select medical and scientific conferences, including providing scientific coverage and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree strongly preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, MS, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of field HEOR or value liaison experience generating and/or communicating evidence to US payers and population health decision-makers.
  • Hematology/oncology experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the US healthcare, payer, and market access environment, including population health decision-making across various channels.
  • Expert technical knowledge of HEOR, including RWE, data analytics, and economic modeling.
  • Current working knowledge of applicable compliance regulations governing industry interactions with payers and population health decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a high-matrixed environment, including joint venture or co-promotion settings.
  • Experience supporting product launches or serving as a therapeutic area point person preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; strong personal integrity and customer focus.
  • Strong compliance knowledge and demonstrated adherence to corporate compliance policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and ability to adapt to multiple business applications.
  • Must reside within the Midwest territory and within reasonable proximity to a major airport.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $225,000 – $245,000
  • Annual Target Cash Bonus: 20% of base
  • Long-Term Incentive: 60% of base (annual target)
  • Vehicle Support: Bi-weekly car allowance plus per-mile reimbursement

Total target compensation inclusive of bonus and LTI is highly competitive and reflective of the seniority and strategic nature of this role.
