AT A GLANCE

The Technical Services Associate will be responsible for the engineering of functional and technical development, specifications and standards of materials, components, and products for Beauty and Eye Wear needed to deliver the right quality, cost-effective and compliant products for the on time new product launches and for its whole life cycle aligned with company core values and strategic direction of the Supply Chain division.

OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY

  • Develop and qualify new materials such as but not limited to low-cost and sustainable materials
  • Develop and qualify components such as primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging of finished goods
  • Set up the bill of materials and each corresponding component codes before purchase orders
  • Provide technical specifications and die-cut guides to be indicated on technical drawings and artworks
  • Review and sign off on technical drawings of new molds, prototypes, pilot mold samples, and production mold samples aligned with design and brand directions
  • Review and sign off on material safety data sheet, technical data sheet, and other technical documents
  • Provide the development qualification plans of components and finished goods for all new product development and existing product development
  • Provide general specifications of components and finished goods
  • Provide technical solutions and guidance to the Strategic Sourcing and Design teams
  • Provide technical risk assessment on all new product development and existing product development
  • Arrange production line trials and testing for components and products, as needed
  • Implement cost savings and cost avoidance under the technical services department
  • Sign off on test protocols of components and finished goods during development and during production with the Quality Assurance department
  • Sign off on incoming inspection protocols of components and finished goods with the Quality Control department
  • Provide individual specifications of components and finished goods and route to suppliers and contract manufacturers and Technical Services Manager
  • Conduct and/or request dimensional and functional evaluation and analysis during development to confirm quality and conformance before signing off on specifications, standards, and range boards
  • Request and sign off on pre-production standards, production standards, and range boards
  • Ensure technical capabilities of suppliers during the supplier onboarding process
  • Continuously look for innovation and trends regarding technical aspects of the products such as but not limited to materials, decoration, production processes, sustainability
  • Participate on supplier audits for new and existing suppliers and spearhead its technical services section
  • Provide technical recommendations on issues encountered during production and post-launch
  • Comply with technical processes, protocols, and standards

YOUR TALENT

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Package Engineering, Material Science, or any related field
  • PRC license holder
  • Package Engineering Certification or other relevant certification/s
  • Expert on material science, package development, production processes of plastics, pulp & paper
  • Working knowledge of statistical processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, problem solving and multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of New Product Development process, desirable

  • Proven experience and knowledge as Package Engineer or Research & Development expert, 3 years or above
