The Assistant Category Manager will oversee and drive the success of multiple product categories within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category-specific strategies to achieve sales targets, optimize assortment, improve market share and maximize profitability. The Category Manager collaborates with cross-functional team and stakeholders to develop effective strategies and achieve business goals.

YOUR OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY Strategy Development and Planning

Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales growth and achieve financial targets.

Conduct market research and consumer analysis to identify emerging trends and anticipate market changes.

Define product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies based on customer demands and competitive insights.

Manage the assortment and product selection within the assigned category, ensuring it aligns with market trends, consumer preferences, and company goals.

Monitor and analyze category performance, sales data, and key performance indicator (KPIs) to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Vendor Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors together with supply chain division, to negotiate favorable terms, manage their performance, secure competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery.

Evaluate vendor performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans to address areas for improvement.

Conduct regular vendor business reviews to identify cost reduction opportunities, new product introductions, and process enhancements.

Analyze and interpret consumer insights, market research, and customer feedback to drive product innovation and identify new opportunities.

Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging market dynamics to proactively adapt category strategies and capitalize on market opportunities. Merchandising and Inventory Management

Develop and execute effective merchandising plans, including product positioning, visual displays, and promotional activities.

Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels to meet customer demand, while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.

Collaborate with finance and supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting, budget management, and efficient inventory planning.

Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to develop and implement effective marketing strategies and initiative for the category.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Proven experience in category management, merchandising, or related role within FMCG or retail.

Strong analytic skills and ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior.

Strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, and customer preferences.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive results, and meet business targets.

Familiarity with category management tools, market research and forecasting techniques and industry best practices.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
