About the job Registered Nurse (Private Duty Nursing PDN)
The Registered Nurse (PDN) is a licensed professional responsible for the delivery and oversight of comprehensive nursing care for medically complex pediatric patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure individualized, high-quality patient outcomes in a supportive and collaborative care environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Deliver skilled nursing care in accordance with the individualized plan of care, physician orders, and clinical protocols.

Conduct comprehensive and ongoing assessments of patients' health status and response to treatment.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity, quality, and effectiveness of care.

Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive care to promote engagement and understanding.

Supervise and provide direction to direct patient care staff, ensuring adherence to care plans and established procedures.

Attend and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings, clinical team conferences, and professional development in-services.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and national accreditation commission standards.

Perform all duties under the clinical oversight of licensed supervisory staff and in coordination with agency leadership.

Carry out other nursing-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements

Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nursing License in the State of Texas.

Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a clinical healthcare setting preferred.

Pediatric and/or home health experience strongly preferred.

Transportation: Must possess a valid drivers license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel between the office and patient homes.
Education Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associates, or Bachelors degree program in Nursing.
Physical Demands

Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds.

Capable of performing duties that may include prolonged periods of standing, bending, and patient handling.
