About the job Optical Metrology Engineer
Our team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Optical Metrology Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams in driving the development, qualification, and implementation of advanced optical metrology equipment for AR products. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end process of designing and deploying metrology solutions for characterizing optical modules and systems, working closely with global partners to ensure technical requirements are met and innovative measurement capabilities are delivered to support next-generation optical technologies.
Optical Metrology Engineer Responsibilities
- Work together with US team to define, design and develop optical metrology solutions including hardware engineering, test software implementation, and instrument qualification
- In-region lead full cycle of tester development against engineering requirement specifications. Engage with suppliers, identify custom instrumentation, fixtures, drive qualification, installation, enablement of new metrology solutions
- Work together with US team to develop and enable metric definition, metrology recipes, solutions and methods to collect a wide range of optical parameters both for imaging and non-imaging systems (e.g. luminance, uniformity, color, MTF, stray light, haze, absorption, camera module metrics, and LED indicator metrics)
- Establish and perform tester alignment and calibration procedures and ensure testers are performing as intended and providing accurate data. Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics and for troubleshooting
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in optical engineering, physics or a related technical discipline with 3+ years of experience or advanced degree in optical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline
- Hands-on experience in optical metrology development from concept to system validation
