About Our Client:

Our client, a Tier 1 automotive supplier based in Bangkok, is seeking a highly experienced and independent consultant to support their preparation for an upcoming IATF 16949 audit. This audit is in relation to their production for a major US-based Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

Role Overview:

As the IATF 16949 Audit Consultant, you will be responsible for independently assessing our client's current quality management system (QMS) against the requirements of IATF 16949:2016. You will identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and guide their team in implementing necessary improvements to ensure a successful audit outcome. This role requires a self-driven individual with a deep understanding of IATF 16949 standards and proven experience in preparing automotive suppliers for certification audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough gap analysis of the client's existing QMS against the IATF 16949:2016 standard.
  • Identify areas of non-conformance and potential weaknesses within the current system.
  • Develop and recommend practical and effective corrective and preventive actions to address identified gaps.
  • Provide guidance and support to the client's team in implementing the required changes and improvements to their processes and documentation.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Advise on the development and improvement of necessary documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Facilitate internal audits to assess the readiness of the QMS for the external IATF 16949 audit.
  • Provide guidance and best practices related to IATF 16949 audit preparation and execution.
  • Work independently and proactively, requiring minimal supervision or support from our team.
  • Communicate effectively with the client's team and provide clear and concise reports on progress and findings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience (minimum 5+ years) in implementing, maintaining, and auditing Quality Management Systems based on IATF 16949:2016 within the automotive industry.
  • Must be a Certified IATF 16949 Auditor (e.g., certified by a recognized certification body). Please provide details of your certification.
  • Thorough and in-depth knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 requirements, core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), and customer-specific requirements of major US OEMs.
  • Proven track record of successfully preparing automotive suppliers for IATF 16949 certification audits and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of audit methodologies, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Thai language is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Chinese language is considered a plus.
  • Must be based in Bangkok, Thailand, and able to work on-site at the client's production facility.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results within the contract timeframe.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with the client's team at all levels.
