Position Summary

The Actuarial Manager is responsible for managing all core actuarial functions of the Company, including product pricing, experience analysis, valuation, financial reporting, IFRS 17, and business performance support. This role plays a hands-on role in technical work, system development, and business support, while also contributing to strategic and operational decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

A. Product Pricing & Profitability

  • Lead product pricing, repricing, and profitability analysis.
  • Conduct product reviews and support product development.
  • Assess product risks and recommend pricing strategies.
  • Support management in product approval and review processes.

B. Experience Study & Assumption Management

  • Conduct regular experience studies and monitor key assumptions.
  • Analyze mortality, persistency, expense, and lapse experience.
  • Recommend assumption updates based on emerging experience.
  • Maintain documentation of assumptions and methodologies.

C. Valuation & Financial Reporting

  • Perform statutory, management, and internal valuations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual actuarial reports.
  • Analyze valuation results and explain movements.
  • Support financial reporting and audit requirements.

D. IFRS 17 & Accounting Support

  • Prepare IFRS 17 calculations, analysis, and disclosures.
  • Coordinate with Finance and IT on IFRS 17 implementation and enhancements.

E. Business Planning & Sales Support

  • Support sales target setting and performance monitoring.
  • Provide business projections and scenario analysis.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of campaigns and promotions.

Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant actuarial experience in life insurance.
  • Experience in pricing and valuation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple functions.
  • Proficiency in actuarial and analytical tools (e.g., Prophet, Excel, SQL).
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
