Job Summary
The PR Specialist will provide day-to-day oversight and coordination of public relations and communications activities on behalf of Qatar's Ministry. The role involves managing external agencies and partners, guiding content development, supporting media engagement, and ensuring that all communications align with conference operations and stakeholder requirements. The position requires strong governance, coordination, and quality control across all PR outputs under the direction of the PR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Qatar's Ministry PR communications while maintaining visibility on priorities, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
- Manage and coordinate daily workflows with external partners including PR agencies, social media agencies, design/production vendors, and web/CMS teams.
- Coordinate internal inputs and approvals across Qatar's Ministry departments and event workstreams.
- Manage the approvals process for bilingual (Arabic & English) communications materials, ensuring version control and release readiness.
- Oversee media relations operations and advise on engagement with local, regional, and international media.
- Coordinate the handling of media inquiries and ensure timely preparation of approved responses.
- Support spokesperson preparation by coordinating briefing packs, talking points, Q&As, interview logistics, and follow-ups.
- Oversee the development and release of communication materials such as:
- Press releases
- Media advisories and statements
- Fact sheets and briefing packs
- FAQs / Q&A documents
- Website updates and social media content
- Ensure consistency across press, web, and social channels including updates to the event website and media resources.
- Align PR, social media, and creative production to ensure consistent messaging and proper escalation processes.
- Oversee creative and A/V production deliverables including photography, videography, and media-ready assets.
- Coordinate with event management teams, venue staff, and operational teams to align communications with conference schedules and activities.
- Provide regular updates to the PR Manager on progress, approvals, media coverage, and potential risks.
- Monitor and report media coverage and sentiment and support issue-response preparedness when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in PR, media relations, or communications.
- Experience supporting international conferences or large-scale events.
- Proven experience managing agencies, vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the Qatari media landscape.

- Experience supporting spokesperson media engagements and interviews.

- Excellent collaboration skills in a multicultural and international work environment.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken) – Mandatory
- French language skills are an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CMS platforms, content scheduling and monitoring tools.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
Work Conditions
- Flexibility to work extended hours during major milestones and conference periods.
- On-site presence required for key media activities and event delivery.
