Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Works Inspectors – Irrigation to join in Qatar. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring irrigation system installation and associated works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Technical Diploma in Irrigation, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
- Relevant technical qualifications in irrigation systems and construction will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of total professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant/similar experience in irrigation system installation, inspection, and supervision.
- Experience in large-scale landscaping, irrigation, infrastructure, or development projects is preferred.
- Qatar/GCC project experience will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and monitor all irrigation system installation and construction activities.
- Ensure irrigation works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Inspect the installation of irrigation pipelines, valves, fittings, sprinkler systems, drip irrigation systems, pumps, control systems, chambers, and associated components.
- Review approved shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical documents before commencement of works.
- Inspect materials delivered to site and verify compliance with approved material submissions and project specifications.
- Monitor pipe installation, jointing, pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities.
- Verify pipe alignment, levels, slopes, depth, spacing, and installation requirements.
- Inspect irrigation valve chambers, pump rooms, control panels, filtration systems, and related infrastructure where applicable.
- Monitor installation of sprinklers, drip lines, emitters, controllers, sensors, and other irrigation components.
- Witness and verify required testing and inspection activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Review and monitor Inspection Requests (IRs) and ensure works are ready for inspection.
- Identify defective or non-conforming works and report them to the relevant engineer.
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure identified defects are properly rectified.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, site reports, test records, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with landscape, civil, MEP, and other project teams to ensure proper integration of irrigation works.
- Monitor progress of irrigation works and report delays, technical issues, or discrepancies.
- Assist in reviewing as-built information and documentation related to completed irrigation works.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover of irrigation systems.
- Ensure contractors comply with project quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and installation practices.
- Good understanding of irrigation pipelines, valves, pumps, sprinklers, drip irrigation, filtration, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret irrigation drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Good knowledge of inspection, testing, and quality control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defective or non-compliant works.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a construction site environment.
