About the job Rigger
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lifting Operations: Perform, supervise, and guide all rigging activities for the safe lifting, moving, positioning, and placement of heavy materials and equipment.
- Equipment Management: Inspect all rigging equipment and lifting gear (e.g., slings, shackles, hoists, wire ropes) to ensure they are maintained, certified, and in safe working condition before and after use.
- Operational Support: Assist crane operators and other lifting personnel in the execution of critical lifts, providing clear and precise signals and guidance to ensure loads are maneuvered safely and accurately.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow all site safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring full compliance throughout all lifting activities.
- Setup & Dismantling: Efficiently set up, install, and dismantle various rigging gear and temporary lifting points as dictated by daily operational requirements and the lifting plan.
- Communication & Planning: Communicate effectively with supervisors, crane operators, and cross-functional team members to ensure alignment on lifting plans and facilitate the safe and effective execution of the project scope.
- Documentation: Read, understand, and execute all lifting plans, instructions, and procedures as prepared by the engineering or lifting department.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Rigger, with a strong preference for experience gained within the Oil & Gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Certification: Valid Rigger Certification from a recognized third-party body (e.g., TÜV, NPORS, LEEA approved, or equivalent).
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of lifting techniques, load calculations, weight estimation, rigging hardware application, and established safety protocols.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to work demanding shifts, including long hours, in challenging outdoor and industrial environments.
- Planning Acumen: Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and implement complex lifting plans, instructions, and blueprints.
Contract Type: 6 Months Extendable
