QA/QC Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for the Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the project quality management system, monitoring compliance with project specifications and applicable standards, and ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• IRCA-certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification is required/preferred.
• Additional professional certifications in Quality Management or Construction Quality will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 14 years of total professional experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant/similar experience in QA/QC management for construction and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in a QA/QC Manager role on major construction projects.
• Experience in large-scale building, infrastructure, road, structural, or civil construction projects is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall QA/QC function for the project.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System in accordance with contract requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 principles and project-specific quality requirements.
• Review and monitor the implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures.
• Establish and maintain appropriate quality control procedures for all construction activities.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with approved quality requirements.
• Review and approve, where authorized, quality-related documents, material submittals, inspection requests, test reports, and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Monitor testing and inspection activities for civil, structural, road, architectural, and other related works.
• Identify non-conformities and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process and monitor closure of outstanding quality issues.
• Conduct internal quality audits and support external/client audits as required.
• Maintain comprehensive quality records, inspection reports, test results, audit reports, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with the Resident Engineers, site supervision team, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
• Review contractor Quality Management Plans and quality documentation.
• Monitor material approvals, source approvals, laboratory testing, and material inspection processes.
• Analyze recurring quality issues and recommend corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
• Prepare and submit regular QA/QC performance reports to project management.
• Ensure that all quality activities are properly documented and traceable.
• Provide guidance and technical support to QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and site teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable project specifications, international standards, contractual requirements, and HSE requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems and construction quality management.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Strong understanding of civil, structural, road, and infrastructure construction quality requirements.
• Experience in developing and implementing PQPs, ITPs, Method Statements, and inspection procedures.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials testing and inspection procedures.
• Excellent auditing, reporting, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage quality requirements across multiple project disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of NCR, corrective action, preventive action, and quality audit processes.
