Quality Assurance Specialist needed for our government client in Southeast Baltimore City.  The Quality Assurance Specialist will be planning, managing, conducting and coordinating quality assurance tests and audits in the procurement, operations and maintenance phases of the systems, facilities and equipment life cycles to ensure compliance, standardization of training, policy adherence and revenue protection.  One year contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $45.25 per hour.

Essential Duties:

  • Review Procurement milestone reporting (PMR), Purchasing Card, Maximo and Dynamics SL projects.
  • Provide quality assurance to Salesforce and Human Resource Central.
  • Responsible for quality assurance duties for OpenText related projects not limited to: Procurement milestone reporting (PMR) and Purchasing Card; Maximo and Dynamics SL projects as well as Salesforce projects such as Human Resource Central.
  • Perform walk through of business requirements documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and SMEs on unit testing.
  • Act as a QA technical resource on project teams to oversee all QA test cases and scripts.
  • Interact with Developers, User Groups, Business Analysts, System Administrators, SMEs, and other project team members.
  • Apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.
  • Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
  • Design and execute manual test plans and test scripts for integrated systems, user acceptance testing, complete modules, and/or workflows.
  • Develop (converting business requirements), maintain, execute, and present test cases and scripts to rigorously test product functionality and investigate all potential product test failures.
  • Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
  • Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and project team.
  • Test any new software to ensure integration into MDTA systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
  • Analyze formal test results to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  • Perform bug fix verification and validation.
  • Monitor and track any bugs.
  • Validate bug fixes.
  • Establish capable processes, monitoring and control of critical processes and product mechanisms for feedback of performance, implementation of an effective root cause analysis and corrective action system, and continuous process improvement.
  • Provides quality assurance (QA) strategies to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.
  • Provide daily status reports that include tasks and hours worked, delivered complete and on time by the end of the resources work day.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should know how to develop test cases, scripts, defect logs, evaluate functional requirements for feedback both before and during grooming sessions.
  • Candidates should know how to design and maintain test cases/test scripts, basic understanding of the SDLC, working knowledge of JIRA, software development, testing COTS and web based products.
  • Candidates must have the ability to interpret functional requirements into test cases.
  • Candidates must have basic SQL scripting knowledge.
  • Must be able to work 7:30 am-4:00 pm or 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch on site..
  • Must be able to pass a FBI background check and drug test.
