Senior Information Specialist (Hanover, MD)

Senior Information Specialist needed for our government client in Hanover, MD. The Senior Information Specialist must have high level hands-on experience to develop in Infor HCM and build analytic solutions. Three month contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $68.00 per hour.

Essential Duties:

• Build data analytics solutions using Azure Synapse serverless SQL pools.
• Perform data engineering with Azure Synapse Apache Spark Pools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems and pipelines to ensure high availability and performance.
  
• Working with Data Warehouses, Data Lakes and Data Marts using Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Transferring and transforming data with Azure Synapse Analytics pipelines.
• Monitoring and optimizing data storage and processing solutions for performance and efficiency.
  
• Designing and implementing data storage solutions using Azure services like Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.
  
• Experience with structured system development methodologies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures.
  
• Experience with Agile development.
• Data Warehouse experience.
• Knowledgeable in DevOps practices.
• Develop and maintain data lake and data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures, and relational/non-relational databases for data access and Advanced Analytics.
  
• Utilize Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics to perform data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.
  
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Technologies such as PowerApps and Dataverse.
• Experience automating tasks with scripting tools and languages such as PowerShell.
  
• Experience keeping data pipelines secure.
  
• Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  
• Maintain and update documentation related to data architecture and workflow processes.
  

Qualifications:

• At least eight years of software development experience is required.
  
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics is required.
• Expert hands-on software development experience using C#, ASP.NET, Web Services/ APIs is required.
• Experience with Microsoft DevOps or GitHub code management environment is required.
• Must have experience or certification in Azure Cloud Services.
• Prior experience with JAVA/.NET and JavaScript (preferred).
  
• Must have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  
• Must have a strong functional and technical background.
  
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer focus skills is required.
• Prior MDOT Experience preferred.
  
• Must be able to work from 7:30 am-4:00 pm or 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday three days a week on site and two days from home.
  
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
