Printing and Scanning Technicians needed for our government client in Towson. The Printing and Scanning Technicians will provide printing, software and document scanning support. Six month contract positions. The non-negotiable pay rates are $19.00 per hour.



Essential Duties:

  • Program and prepare jobs for printing, Color printing, Photographic reductions and enlargements, ​punching, binding and folding
  • Place orders for printing supplies
  • Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests
  • Setup, program and release jobs from print queue
  • Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality
  • Manages the copier leases for the Towson campus
  • Manages vendors for out-sourced printing services.
  • Document Scanning Prep: Includes removing binding elements, locating, and removing obstructions to pages, optimizing pages for capture process, and correctly organizing the files for scanning (based on instruction).
  • Scanning: Includes operating and maintaining equipment and capture software, feeding documents, reviewing images for quality, and achieving minimum production requirements.
  • Data Entry (Indexing): Includes alpha/numeric typing and/or capturing of required data (based on instruction).
  • Document Clean Up: Includes deleting blank pages that were missed during processing and rotating pages to ensure correct orientation.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Includes checking images and data for quality and accuracy.
  • Quality assurance is performed to ensure capture of all pages and quality of scanned images.
  • QA is also performed to ensure the accuracy of indexing/data entry.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at last three years of work experience in a technical support (printing and scanning) is required.
  • Ability to move scanning/computer equipment and lift cartons weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Able to meet deadline, good attention to detail and strong Quality Control skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively along with good customer service skills.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer software and the Internet.
  • Must be able to work on site in Towson from 7:00 am-3:30 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute on paid lunch.
