Social Workers (Baltimore County)

The Social Workers will develop interventions and behavior contracts with those seeking mental health treatment at eight senior centers throughout Baltimore County. Six to twelve month contract positions with possible extension. The non-negotiable pay rate is $ 26.00 per hour.

Essential Duties Only:

• Conduct confidential one-on-one appointments with individuals experiencing mental health issues

• Develop interventions and/or behavior contracts for individuals with challenging behaviors so they can remain in the center

• Schedule meetings with staff to discuss any issues and offer training and procedures for days when they were not on site.

• Lead support groups on topics of interest to the membership (i.e., dealing with loss, anxiety, skills for maintaining good mental health, etc.)

• Mental Health screenings

• Link individuals to resources, and consulting with relevant parties to establish a coordinated plan

• Provide crisis intervention and updating crisis response procedures.

Qualifications Only: 

• Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with experience  experience in counseling and leading groups.
• Must have a valid Driver's License, good driving record and own vehicle.
• Must be able to complete County sponsored CPR/First Aid training.
• Microsoft Word and Excel skills are required.
• Must be able to work from 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday through Thursday with a 1 hour non paid lunch and 8:00 am-3:00 pm on Fridays.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
• All work is performed in Towson and at the eight Senior Centers through Baltimore County with possible options to work two days a week from home.
