POSITION: FINANCE MANAGER

REPORTING TO: FINANCE DIRECTOR

LOCATION: BRYANSTON

JOB PURPOSE:

  • To prepare management accounts monthly and quarterly forecast, performance variances, inventory review between stock and system.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of annual financial statements

Preparation and monitoring of budgets

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconciliation of customer and supplier accounts
  • Report on discrepancies on Debtors and Creditors Age analysis
  • Establish and maintain proper relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Management of Cashbook and petty cash
  • Preparation of monthly reports
  • Liaise with relevant internal departments to provide the necessary documentation for the preparation of financial statements.
  • Evaluate data pertaining to cost in order plan budgets
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets
  • Ensure that accurate budget or forecast templates are loaded onto the system
  • Maintain and monitor fixed asset register
  • Ensuring financial ledgers are completed accurately and maintained in a timely manner
  • Act as liaison with auditors
  • Investigate and follow-up on discrepancies of audits reports and reporting thereof to management
  • Management of trial balance and attending to queries on balance sheet recons
  • Completion of statutory reports for VAT, income tax and PAYE
  • Assist with the management of tax compliance for the organization
  • Ensuring that the company adheres to SARS regulations and IFRS financial principles
  • Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures
  • Compile monthly management accounts
  • Prepare accurate financial and regulatory reports, Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows as required by management, law and the Board of Directors
  • Preparation of annual financial statements

Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by management from time to time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant tertiary degree in Accounting / Finance/ CA
  • Previous experience working as a Financial Manager, working on FMCG accounts
  • Must have completed articles
  • Experience in an FMCG environment is essential
  • Understanding of IFRS standards is essential
  • Proficiency in MS office Package e.g. Excel. Word, Internet and PowerPoint
  • SAGE Evolution knowledge will be advantageous
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to communicate in Afrikaans will be advantageous
  • Ability to cope well under pressure
  • A track record of documented successes and achievements
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and changing priorities
  • Experience in handling high volume accounts
  • Innovative and adaptable
