Frontend Engineer - India

The Right Profile

We are seeking a Frontend Engineer to develop and own state of the art products that help bring people closer to their financial goals. As we build and scale Syfe over the next few years, our product and engineering team is growing and it is the perfect time to join the team at an early stage and create an impact within and outside the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new features, simplify existing services, and scale our systems as we rapidly grow and evolve

• Work across web and mobile surfaces, bringing consistency to how we build on both

• Own the shape of a solution end to end. The architecture, the edge cases, the trade-offs. Use AI agents to move fast on the implementation

• Create reusable patterns that improve the consistency of the codebase

• Collaborate with your engineering teammates through planning, pairing, testing, reviewing, and delivery of the features that you build

• Work with the product team to translate powerful ideas into everyday business value

• Write sustainable, testable, high-quality, high-performance code

• Mentor engineers earlier in their career through code review and pairing

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-6 years of professional software development experience

• Problem-solving skills, analytical mind, and positive attitude

• Firm grasp of JavaScript (or TypeScript) and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax

• Deep experience with React, composition, hooks, state, and how rendering actually works. Whether you've applied it on web, mobile, or both

• Experience with React Native is a strong plus, but not required. We'll support you in picking it up

• Familiarity with Next.js is a plus, but not required

• Comfortable working with AI agents day to day. Scoping the work well, giving the right context, and knowing when to step in

Rigorous about reviewing what comes back. You treat generated code as a first draft to be understood, not accepted

• Opinionated about architecture and abstractions, and able to hold a high bar for the codebase however the code got written

• Comfortable owning a feature end to end, from design discussion through to production

• Favour regular, incremental delivery over perfection

• Curiosity about how things work
