What You'll do:

- Design and implement scalable, production-ready backend services using Kotlin and Java with Spring and Quarkus;

- Architect systems with long-term maintainability, scalability, and reliability in mind, applying best practices and design patterns;

- Own observability for services by defining SLIs, monitoring with Grafana, and driving performance and stability improvements;

- Lead cross-service debugging and incident response, coordinating with multiple teams during critical events;

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and manage cloud-native infrastructure using Kubernetes and Flux CD;

- Continuously identify and propose process improvements using flow metrics and delivery data;

- Mentor and support junior engineers in technical practices, debugging, and quality standards;

- Identify dependencies, risks, and blockers, and communicate their impact across teams;

- Contribute to improving engineering culture, system quality, and operational excellence;

Who You Are:

- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments;

- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java;

- Hands-on experience with Spring and/or Quarkus frameworks;

- Solid understanding of software architecture principles and distributed systems or microservices at scale;

- Experience with Kubernetes and GitOps workflows (e.g., Flux CD, GitHub Actions);

- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gradle);

- Proficiency with observability tools (metrics, dashboards, alerting – e.g., Grafana);

- Security-focused mindset, with knowledge of secure design principles and security scanning tools;

- Experience owning services end-to-end (architecture, development, deployment, and monitoring);

- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, handle incident response, and mentor team members;

- Experience working in Kanban environments with flow metrics (preferred);

- Familiarity with data-driven process improvement practices (preferred);

- Experience leading architecture reviews (preferred);

- Experience mentoring engineers or facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions (preferred);

- Experience with performance testing (load, stress, profiling) (preferred);

- Background in security, compliance, or secure engineering practices (preferred).
