Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a global FMCG manufacturer operating a high-volume, 24/7 production site supplying major food, beverage and household brands. The site is well invested, engineering led and focused on reliability and safety.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
A hands-on, mechanically biased maintenance role within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. Youll support 24/7 production by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance while contributing to reliability and continuous improvement across site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance via CMMS
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production machinery
• Work on gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Complete strip-downs, rebuilds, alignment work and mechanical improvements
• Support machine changeovers and continuous improvement activities
• Undertake basic electrical fault-finding on motors, sensors, drives and control panels
• Perform safe isolations and basic electrical repairs
• Complete maintenance documentation and liaise closely with production and engineering teams

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Proven maintenance experience within FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or plastics manufacturing
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering
• Strong mechanical background with supporting electrical skills
• Experience fault-finding in a fast-paced production environment
• Confidence working a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern
• A proactive, team-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with extrusion, injection or stretch blow moulding machinery
• Background working with automated production or packaging equipment
• Basic PLC fault-finding experience (training available)
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
