Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a family-owned company and leading FMCG manufacturer based in the Suffolk area.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced, automated production environment. This role focuses on maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across site operations through both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across electrical and mechanical systems
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption to production
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using internal systems
• Provide first-line support for machinery and site services
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
• Work closely with management to enhance reliability and performance

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Strong electrical background with multi-skilled capability
• 18th Edition Electrical qualification
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
• Proven fault-finding skills on automated equipment
• Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills:

• Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction
