The Truck Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of heavy-duty truck and equipment, as well as related services. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, understanding individual and fleet needs, and providing customized product recommendations. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and take pride in helping clients find the best equipment solutions for their business.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories.
- Assist customers in selecting trucks and equipment that best meet their operational needs.
- Present and promote the companys full line of products and services, including financing and customization options.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Coordinate with Service, Operations, and Finance departments to ensure accurate quotes, timely deliveries, and excellent customer experience.
- Track and manage all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions through CRM or internal reporting tools.
- Maintain a professional appearance, workspace, and company vehicle.
- Stay current on industry trends, new models, and manufacturer updates.
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and on-site demonstrations as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Direct sales experience required; truck or heavy equipment sales experience strongly preferred
- Valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) required
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of truck and equipment specifications
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- High level of self-motivation, organization, and accountability
- Experience with computer systems and basic CRM tools preferred
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work extra hours when needed
