The Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in leading a cross-functional team of consultants and analysts to solve the client's most critical business challenges. You will own the day-to-day delivery of strategy, operational transformation, or growth advisory projects, while serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives and nurturing internal talent.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Structure Complex Problems: Define project workplans, formulate hypotheses, and translate broad client objectives into actionable analysis and workstreams.
- Ensure Technical Excellence: Oversee data collection, advanced financial modeling, and research to ensure outputs meet the highest standard of consulting quality.
- Manage Operations: Track timeline adherence, mitigate execution risks, and actively monitor project budgets and resource utilization.
2. Client Relationship & Communication:
- Serve as Trusted Advisor: Manage day-to-day interactions with client leadership (including VP and C-suite levels), aligning stakeholder expectations.
- Present Insights: Synthesize multi-faceted data points into cohesive executive narratives and lead executive-level presentations.
- Drive Change: Guide clients through implementation strategies, ensuring seamless alignment and organizational transformation.
3. People Development & Coaching:
- Mentor Junior Staff: Actively manage, coach, and support the career progression of Business Analysts and Associates.
- Foster Collaboration: Create a highly cooperative, motivated, and psychologically safe environment for diverse, international teams.
4. Practice & Business Development:
- Support Pursuits: Identify follow-on business opportunities with existing accounts and assist Partners in drafting proposals and participating in sales pitches.
- Build Intellectual Property: Contribute to internal firm initiatives, standardizing proprietary frameworks, whitepapers, and industry thought leadership.
Required Profile & Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience:
- Top-Tier Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree (PhD, MFE) from a globally renowned business school or university. A strong Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Economics) is preferred.
- Consulting Tenure: Typically requires 4 to 8 years of total professional experience, with at least 2 to 4 years in a prominent management consulting environment.
Critical Competencies:
- Structured Problem Solving: Elite logic and structuring capabilities to breakdown ambiguous corporate crises into digestible frameworks.
- Emotional Intelligence (EQ): High levels of empathy, conflict-resolution skills, and the capacity to confidently navigate political environments at client offices.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written storytelling skills, capable of delivering difficult insights with tact and clarity.
- Adaptability: Comfort with moving across a wide variety of industries (such as Financial Services, Tech, TMT, Retail, or Private Equity) and functional areas.
