JOB SUMMARY

A CAD Specialist embodies a vital position in the team as he/she performs the team's final output and deliverable. A CAD Specialist uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop technical drawings, layouts, or other schematics. Duties include translating technical documents into a drawing and evaluating technical design parameters. A career as a CAD Specialist requires you have some formal qualifications and education, typically a degree in computer science, computer-aided design, or a related field. To be considered a good drafter, a CAD Specialist must have experience and expertise with a variety of CAD software and strong analytical skills.

This is a project-based role (has a chance for regularization depending on project needs), on a shifting schedule (day shift/night shift)  and on a Work-In-Office (1Nito Tower) set-up.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs standardized or prescribed CAD assignments, involving a sequence of related operations.

  2. Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines.

  3. Performs routine applications, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CAD software) to achieve set results and deadlines.

  4. Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CAD software, such as AutoCAD.

  5. Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.

  6. Must become proficient with company CAD organizational systems and standards.

  7. Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.

  8. Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected disciplines.

  9. Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.

  10. Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.

  11. Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.

  12. Responsible for providing CAD drafting support services. Work is subject to supervisory review. 

  13. Performs skilled drafting work in preparing preliminary and final engineering drawings, plans, maps and exhibits.

  14. Transforms initial rough product designs using CAD software into working documents. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  15. Produces finished drawings from preliminary design sketches and instruction provided by design staff.

  16. Produces detailed layouts from information furnished by design staff.

  17. Addresses plan check comments including basic plan view level comments, editing text, editing attributes, etc.

  18. Manipulates existing information to prepare composite exhibits and plans.

  19. Prepares presentation-type exhibits using proposed information from other consultants or markups from design staff.

  20. Performs other miscellaneous duties such as research solutions to project concerns and present solutions to design problems.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer-Aided Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a CAD Specialist, CAD Drafter, or similar role preferred. Exposure to project-based drafting or engineering documentation is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other computer-aided design tools.

  • Familiarity with drafting standards and procedures.

  • Ability to digitize or trace sketches and translate technical documents into detailed drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of preparing preliminary and final engineering drawings, layouts, and exhibits.
