As a Staff Accountant (Accounts Payable), you will support the accounting operations of an entertainment merchandising company specializing in e-commerce and music merchandise. This role focuses on Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate transaction coding and data integrity in a royalty-based accounting environment. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant, who reviews all transactions before posting. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, keen attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial transactions within structured coding frameworks.
This is a full-time role, on a US shift and on a Work From Home set-up.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Payable Processing
Process and record daily credit card transactions within the accounting system
Handle approximately 50 transactions per day on average (up to 70–100 during peak periods)
Accurately code transactions according to division and artist allocations
Invoice & PO Matching
Assist with matching invoices to purchase orders
Process vendor bills and enter them into the accounting system
Ensure proper documentation and transaction coding before submission for review
Expense Coding & Allocation
Apply correct GL coding and allocation structure for revenues and expenses
Ensure transactions are accurately categorized within the company's royalty accounting structure
Accounting Inbox Management
Monitor the accounting email inbox
Retrieve vendor invoices and supporting documents
Enter invoices into the accounting system for processing
Data Accuracy & Transaction Review
Ensure accuracy before transactions are submitted for review and posting
Maintain clean documentation and supporting records within the accounting system
Assist in identifying inconsistencies or potential coding errors
System Usage
Enter transactions in Acumatica (web-based ERP system)
Utilize Excel for tracking and data validation
Accounting Environment (Important Context)
This role operates within a royalty-based accounting structure commonly used in the music and entertainment industry.
Transactions must be coded accurately at both the Division level and Artist level
Revenue and expenses are typically allocated using a royalty split structure (example: 80% artist / 20% company).
Accuracy in coding is critical, as errors can directly impact artist royalty reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3–5+ years of accounting or Accounts Payable experience, preferably in high-volume transaction environments
Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice processing, and structured transaction coding
Proficient in Excel and comfortable using ERP or web-based accounting systems (Acumatica experience a plus)
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret and analyze financial transactions
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured processes while maintaining accuracy
Experience in e-commerce, entertainment, or royalty accounting environments preferred
Ability to work remotely with flexibility, initially aligned with U.S. hours for onboarding and training
