Are you ready to shape the next generation of airborne defense systems? We're seeking a Senior Test Engineer to take a leading role in the testing and validation of cutting-edge military technologies. This position supports a high-priority defense program focused on delivering real-time, mission-critical data to military decision-makers and operators. From lab integration to flight testing, you'll be central to the success of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the programs Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) in alignment with system architecture, mission objectives, and development milestones.
  • Define test entry/exit criteria, traceability metrics, and align activities with integrated release schedules.
  • Design and manage System Integration Lab (SIL) environments to simulate real-world aircraft systems.
  • Lead automation efforts using tools like Python, Jenkins, Robot Framework, IXIA, and Spirent.
  • Plan and execute developmental and operational tests, including test documentation, safety approvals, and on-site issue resolution.
  • Monitor telemetry data and system logs; identify and troubleshoot anomalies in real-time.
  • Conduct performance analysis and generate after-action reports.
  • Evaluate encryption timing, communication reliability, and system interoperability.
  • Embed test coverage into CI/CD pipelines to catch issues early in the development process.
  • Promote a test-first approach during design phases through model-based reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with security, safety, and compliance teams to ensure testing meets military certification standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelors in Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering (Masters preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience testing DoD systems, from lab environments to full-scale flight testing
  • Proficiency in avionics or communication system testing
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and data analysis platforms (MATLAB, Pandas, JMP)
  • Understanding of military EMI/EMC and environmental testing standards

Preferred:

  • Experience with tactical networks or command and control (C2) systems
  • Background in Type-1 encryption, RMF, and secure communications
  • Flight-test certifications and Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies
  • Exposure to Model-Based Testing
