An established and growing Auckland-based manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead and develop its sales function across New Zealand.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a national team of five Sales Executives and one Sales Administrator, driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering strategic sales performance.

A company vehicle is provided for both business and personal use.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy, ensuring strong performance across all regions, and building long-term partnerships with key clients.

You will lead from the front, combining strategic thinking with hands-on sales leadership and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the national sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a team of 5 Sales Executives and 1 Sales Administrator
  • Drive new business development and key account growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, contractors, and major customers
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Ensure consistent sales processes and customer service standards nationwide
  • Collaborate with operations, production, and marketing teams to align business objectives

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated success in managing and motivating a geographically dispersed sales team
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic planning capability
  • Experience managing national accounts and distribution networks
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on sales engagement
  • A results-driven mindset with strong negotiation skills

Experience within a New Zealand manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
