Overview

An international technology-driven organization is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using a modern data stack. The role involves working with cloud infrastructure, ETL processes, and data architecture to empower data-driven decision-making across the business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain robust data infrastructure using tools like AWS, Databricks, DBT, and Power BI.

  • Build ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Apache Spark, integrating data from diverse sources.

  • Implement data governance standards, including quality controls and monitoring, to ensure integrity, compliance, and security.

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to resolve data-related issues and support analytics initiatives.

  • Ensure data systems are scalable and performant to meet evolving organizational needs.

Key Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.

  • Hands-on experience with data processing technologies, including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.

  • Familiarity with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

  • Knowledge of handling various data formats like JSON, Parquet, CSV, and XML.

  • Experience building and managing batch and streaming pipelines, including change data capture (CDC) mechanisms.

  • Practical knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, DMS, and EC2.

  • Comfortable with version control systems, CI/CD practices, and documentation standards (e.g., Git, DBT, Confluence).

  • Ability to work effectively within Agile teams and contribute to iterative development cycles.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with additional programming languages like R, Scala, C++, or SAS.

  • Enthusiasm for data analytics, financial markets, or machine learning.

  • Prior experience or interest in data science projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
