Position Purpose

To develop and maintain safe, efficient, and economically viable coal mine plans by preparing mine designs, production schedules, and technical evaluations that support operational targets, regulatory compliance, and sustainable mining practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and update Life of Mine (LoM), mid-term, and short-term mine plans in alignment with coal reserves and production targets.
  2. Develop pit designs, haul roads, dumps, and mining sequences in accordance with good mining practices and geotechnical guidelines.
  3. Produce monthly, weekly, and annual production schedules consistent with equipment capacity and operational constraints.
  4. Conduct technical and economic evaluations of mine plans including strip ratio, recovery, productivity, and cost implications.
  5. Provide accurate and practical mine plans as operational guidance for production teams and mining contractors.
  6. Coordinate closely with Geology, Production, HSE, and Contractor teams to ensure plans are executable and optimized.
  7. Monitor and analyze plan versus actual performance, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
  8. Support preparation of technical documentation for government submissions (RKAB, annual mine plan, technical reports).
  9. Ensure mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to coal mining operations in Indonesia.
  10. Continuously improve mine planning practices through data analysis, benchmarking, and optimization studies.

Job Requirements

Education : Bachelor's degree in mining engineering
Experience : Minimum 8-12 years in mine planning or mining engineering (coal preferred)
Technical Skills:

  • Mine planning and scheduling software (e.g., Surpac, Minescape, Xpac, etc.)
  • Mine design and production scheduling
  • Basic geotechnical and hydrology understanding
  • Cost and productivity analysis

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Attention to detail and planning discipline
  • Ability to work in a site-based operational environment
