Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HSE Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) within our organization. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, promote a strong safety culture, and protect the well-being of employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with industry standards and company objectives.
  2. Conduct regular audits and inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards.
  3. Identify, analyze, and evaluate occupational health, safety, and environmental risks to prevent incidents and ensure workplace safety.
  4. Provide training and education programs to employees on safety procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and emergency response.
  5. Investigate workplace incidents or accidents, recommend corrective actions, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  6. Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health, safety, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Foster and promote a strong safety culture across the organization, encouraging employee responsibility for personal and team safety.
  8. Manage and oversee environmental management programs including recycling, waste management, and other sustainability practices.
  9. Prepare and present annual HSE performance reports to senior management and serve as the main liaison with regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
  10. Lead, mentor, and supervise the HSE team, including Safety Officers and Environment Officers, to ensure effective implementation of HSE programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in HSE management, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety, environmental management, or related fields (including certifications relevant to Mining Safety Management Systems).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive a proactive safety culture and implement effective risk management strategies.
