Job Description & Requirements

  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure the timely and successful delivery of green technology and decarbonisation projects.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of projects, including system installation, training, evaluation, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including Chief Engineers, Ship Managers, equipment manufacturers, classification societies, and other technical parties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical expertise on Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS), Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (Scrubbers), EEXI, Energy Saving Devices (ESD), decarbonisation technologies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse technical challenges arising from the adoption of new technologies and recommend practical solutions and corrective measures.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and scopes of work for third-party contractors, including clear quality control and inspection criteria.
  • Coordinate and supervise third-party engineering contractors involved in retrofit and exhaust gas treatment projects.
  • Review and assess structural calculations, loading assessments, pressure drop and friction loss calculations, engineering drawings, and related technical documentation.
  • Address and respond to classification society comments and technical queries to support timely design approval.
  • Review project scope, schedules, design information, client specifications, engineering drawings, layouts, and other project documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Monitor and manage external engineering firms to ensure that project deliverables meet the required technical, quality, and project standards.
  • Conduct technical due diligence and assessments of BWTS, exhaust gas treatment systems, EEXI, ESD, and other decarbonisation solutions.
  • Participate in 3D scanning, ballast water sampling, installation supervision, commissioning activities, and post-project technical reviews.
  • Contribute to annual project planning, resource allocation, and budgeting activities where required.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, conducting regular reviews with relevant technical and project stakeholders to identify potential cost overruns, risks, and deviations.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement appropriate measures to maintain project performance, cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure that safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements are consistently maintained throughout all project activities.
  • Comply with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements, while promoting a strong safety culture among colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.
