VSAT Engineer (Marine)
About the job VSAT Engineer (Marine)
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, assembly, and troubleshooting of maritime satellite communication systems (VSAT).
- Conduct pre-deployment setup and testing in a controlled workshop setting.
- Configure and diagnose connectivity issues related to remote communication equipment.
- Deliver technical assistance to clients, including remote troubleshooting and support.
- Coordinate and arrange shipment of necessary equipment and tools to designated project locations.
- Create and maintain detailed installation documentation, including diagrams, schematics, and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training programs provided by the company.
- This position reports to the Head of Engineering.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a technical role, preferably in maritime or remote communications.
- Strong foundation in satellite technologies, including VSAT, RF subsystems, and stationary antenna configurations.
- Familiarity with RF theory and use of tools such as spectrum analyzers is an advantage.
- Knowledge or training in networking fundamentals such as IP routing, switching, VOIP, and security protocols is a plus.
