- Lead the procurement activities for a designated fleet of vessels, ensuring operational efficiency through proactive oversight.
- Collect, organize, and maintain detailed technical data from vessels, service providers, and internal stakeholders to support smooth operations.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and advance payments within your assigned fleet group to maintain strong vendor partnerships.
- Track adherence to approved budgets and requisition guidelines, ensuring financial accountability across procurement activities.
- Support procurement officers by guiding quotation processes, vendor evaluations, and coordination of logistics to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Review and follow up on outstanding invoices in regular reports, ensuring prompt resolution and healthy cash flow.
- Develop and maintain a vetted list of preferred vendors for frequently used parts and services to streamline supply chain efficiency.
- Act as the go-to contact for urgent operational support, using technical knowledge to resolve time-sensitive challenges effectively.
Leadership & Team Management Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach a team of procurement staff, encouraging collaboration and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Drive process enhancements and the adoption of new workflows, contributing to a culture focused on efficiency and innovation.
- Lead training efforts related to procurement platforms and digital tools (e.g., Office 365), ensuring thorough documentation practices.
- Identify and communicate team training requirements, working with senior procurement leadership to support skill development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and design individualized development plans to support team member growth.
- Oversee staff availability and manage potential resource gaps to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Organize and facilitate regular coordination meetings with technical departments to promote transparency and teamwork.
- Serve as the escalation point for procurement-related or supply chain matters, resolving issues through strategic thinking and expertise.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in any field, with at least 3 years of relevant procurement experience in the maritime or related industry.
- Alternatively, holders of a diploma or technical qualification with 5+ years of procurement experience will be considered.
- Prior leadership or team management experience is highly preferred.
